How the packing list generator works

  1. 1

    Tell it the trip

Where you are going, the month and how long: days, weeks or months. Add kids, the kind of trip or your home country if you like.

  2. 2

Get a list made for it

Clothes counted for your length, weather gear from the measured climate of the month you travel, and rows for flights, kids and the kind of trip.

  3. 3

Tick it off as you pack

Your list has its own link: tick items as they go in the bag, share it with whoever you travel with, or download it for Excel, Word, Google Sheets or print.

Packing lists by destination and trip

Full lists with weather gear for every month of the year.

Frequently asked questions

This one is free with no sign-up. It reads the measured climate of your destination for the month you travel, so a rainy month adds a rain jacket and a cold one adds warm layers, and it counts clothes for how long you are going. Each list gets its own link to tick off, share and reopen.

For 7 days the list counts 6 tops, 3 bottoms, 8 pairs of underwear and 6 of socks. For a trip of 8 days or more the counts stop there and the list adds a wash each week and a laundry kit, so two weeks packs the same bag as one.

From the city's measured climate for the month you travel: rain gear when it rains on 8 or more days of the month (a month below freezing on average gets snow, not rain), warm layers when nights fall to 8 °C (46 °F) or below, and sun protection when days reach 24 °C (75 °F). A beach, snow or high-altitude trip can get sun protection when it is cooler than that.

Rows by age: 9 for babies up to 2 (diapers, formula, a carrier), 7 for kids 3 to 12 (a comfort toy, kids' medicine, a car seat on a road trip) and 1 for teens. Clothing counts are per person once more than one person is going.

Yes, it is free, with no sign-up. Print the list or download it as PDF, Excel or Word.

This list is what every trip needs. A trip abroad also needs documents, money and phone to-dos (passport validity, travel insurance, an eSIM) plus plug adapters and visa rules for the country. The international checklist lists those, and the generator adds them whenever a city on your trip is in another country.
