Information We Collect

When you use MonkeyEatingMango, we collect information you provide to generate your travel itinerary, including your destination preferences, travel dates, budget, and travel style. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate personalized travel itineraries
• Save your trips if you create an account
• Improve our recommendations
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance the service
• Email you about your account or to ask for your feedback (reply to any of our emails and we stop)

Data Storage

Your saved trips are stored securely in Firebase. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Trip data is associated with your account and can be deleted at any time.

Cookies and Analytics

Whether analytics cookies need your consent first depends on where you are. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and anywhere we cannot tell your country, they are off until you accept them in the cookie banner; until then Google Analytics counts visits without cookies and Mixpanel does not run at all. Everywhere else there is no banner: analytics are on, and you can turn them off. When analytics are on, Google Analytics and Mixpanel measure how the site is used: pages visited, time spent, and general location; if you are signed in, Mixpanel also stores your name and email with that activity. Mixpanel also records sessions (clicks, scrolls and what is on screen) so we can find where pages break or confuse people. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. Separately, Ahrefs Web Analytics counts page views without cookies, and Sentry receives a report when the site hits an error.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase for sign-in and storing your saved trips
• Google Cloud for the AI that generates itineraries
• Google Maps for location and mapping features
• Wikimedia Commons, which serves some of the photos you see
• Google Analytics for usage analytics (cookieless until you accept analytics cookies)
• Mixpanel for usage analytics and session recordings, only after you accept analytics cookies
• Ahrefs Web Analytics for cookieless page-view counts
• Sentry for error reports
• LemonSqueezy, the merchant of record for Trip Pass purchases: its checkout script loads on our pages, and when you buy it receives your name, email and payment details, which we never see
• Resend to deliver the emails we send you: it receives your email address
• Travelpayouts for travel booking links and offers on our guide and blog pages, which may set cookies to credit a booking you make
• ipapi.co, which receives your IP address to tell which country you are in (for the cookie choice above) and to suggest your home city when you plan a trip

Your Rights

You can request to view, update, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us.
