The dry season, from May to September, is generally considered the best time to visit Ubud and Yogyakarta, offering pleasant weather with less humidity and minimal rainfall. Temperatures average 25-32°C (77-90°F) during these months. This period coincides with peak tourist season, especially July and August, meaning popular sites like Borobudur and Prambanan will be more crowded. The shoulder seasons (April, October) can offer good weather with fewer crowds and slightly lower prices.

Ubud takes the first six full days, letting you settle into Bali's rhythms before a major transition. This front-loads spiritual experiences, cooking classes, and jungle adventures while you adjust to the time zone. The midway transfer to Yogyakarta on Day 7 serves as a natural reset, blending travel with a shift in scenery.
Yogyakarta then occupies the final three full days, allowing focused exploration of its royal heritage and craft markets, building to a lighter departure day on Day 10.
